A Chico gathering starts with a guest plan.
Start with what guests can use throughout the gathering. A Chico backyard party may have a household bathroom available, while an outdoor event may rely entirely on temporary facilities. Include setup staff and the people staying for cleanup when you describe the schedule.
Our event planner uses one toilet per 50 guests as a starting point for up to four hours without other bathrooms. It adds capacity for longer attendance and alcohol. Call to refine that estimate for break times, accessible facilities and the site layout.
Coordinate the park or venue reservation.
For Bidwell Park or City Plaza, check the City of Chico’s park reservation process. Ask which bathrooms are included, whether outside restroom equipment is allowed and where delivery vehicles may enter. Give us the approved arrival and removal windows before scheduling.
City of Chico: park reservations ↗Planning an event at a CARD park?
For Community Park or Sycamore Field, review the Chico Area Recreation and Park District’s park rental packet. It specifies two portable toilets for the first 100 people, then one per additional 100 attendees. Its accessible-unit requirement is one ADA toilet per ten rented, with at least one for smaller setups. CARD determines the final quantity case by case using peak attendance, event length and existing restrooms.
Confirm vendor approval, placement and delivery/removal windows with CARD before booking. Share the approved restroom plan with us so equipment and collection match the reservation.

Choose the mix by guest needs and available space. Standard units cover everyday use; deluxe units add selected comfort features. A trailer brings a separate indoor-style space, with its own power, water and access plan. Include a usable route to accessible facilities.
Make handwashing visible along the way out of the restrooms. When temporary food vendors are part of the gathering, coordinate their sanitation requirements with Butte County Environmental Health as well as the guest facilities.

Treat arrival, cleaning and collection as event tasks. Deliver before barriers and furniture restrict entry. For a busy or multi-day schedule, agree on replenishment and service between operating periods, then keep a contact available for final collection.
